Mr. Bingle Ornament
    Materials:
  • Sugar cone
  • 6" piece of 1/2" green satin ribbon
  • 9" piece of baby ribbon or thin cording
  • 2" styrofoam ball or white satin ball ornament
  • Black marker or paint pen (Tulip brand works great for this)
  • One red and two blue pony beads (or pom poms)
  • One 1/2" jingle bell
  • Tacky glue or hot glue gun

  1. Fold the baby ribbon in half and tie the ends together in a knot. Insert the folded end into the sugar cone. Using a pencil point or other pointed object, gently push the ribbon through the end of the cone. Pull ribbon gently until know stops at the end of the cone. Squeeze a few drops of glue into the end of the cone to keep the knot secure. (Fig. A & B)
  2. Run a line of glue around the inside edge of the sugar cone. (Fig. C)
  3. Push the 2" ball up into the sugar cone, making sure the ball is touching the glue. If you are using a satin ornament ball, make sure the "hanger" is hidden inside the cone. (Fig. D)
  4. Using Fig. E for placement, glue on the eyes and nose. Using a marker or paint pen, draw Mr. Bingle's mouth. Tie the 1/2" ribbon into a bow and trip off the excess ends. Glue bow to Mr. Bingle's chin. Glue small jingle bell in center of the bow.
For added decoration, you may want to add rick-rack around the edge of Mr. Bingle's hat. We suggest brown to match the sugar cone. You might also like to add felt of silk holly "wings" to the back of Mr. Bingle's neck area.
