  • 1 styrofoam ball (2¼")
  • Small scraps of posterboard and felt
  • 4 toothpicks
  • 2 small twigs
  • Black marker or paint pen (Tulip brand works great for this)

  • 6" piece of ½" green satin ribbon
  • Red and blue pony beads (or pom poms)
  • One small jingle bell
  • Butter knife or coarse-grit sandpaper

  1. Click here to print out the Mr. Bingle Table Decoration Pattern.
  2. Using the butter knife or sandpaper, trim the top and bottom off of the 2 2¾" styrofoam balls. Trim the bottom ONLY from the 2¼" styrofoam ball. (Fig. A)
  3. Using scissors, carefully cut out the pattern pieces. Place the feet and wing patterns on your posterboard scraps and carefully trace around them with a pencil. Cut out the posterboard pieces. Next, pin the vest and hat patterns on the felt scraps and cut them out. (Fig. B)
  4. Run a swirl of glue on the posterboard feet. Place one of the 2¾" styrofoam balls on top of the glue. (Fig. C)
  5. Run a swirl of glue on the flat part of the second 2¾" styrofoam ball. Insert 2 toothpicks into the first styrofoam ball. Push ball number two down onto ball number one. (Fig. D)
  6. Run a line of glue on each side of the vest back. See Fig. E.
  7. Insert 2 toothpicks into the second styrofoam ball. Slip the vest over the toothpick "neck". Overlap the edge of the vest to the glue side, creating a seam. (Fig. F)
  8. Run a swirl of glue on the flat part of the 2¼" styrofoam ball. Push head ball down onto body ball. (Fig. G)
  9. Run a line of glue on the edge of the hat. Fold over, align edges and press together to seam. (Fig. H)
  10. Run a line of glue around the inside edge of the hat. Push down onto Mr. Bingle's head. Tie green ribbon into a bow and glue onto neck, glue jingle bell on top of the bow. Push twigs into the styrofoam to make arms. Using the paint pen or marker, draw on mouth. Glue on eyes, nose and wings. (Fig. I)
