The sweater part in back folds in as you are trying to put them on and the instep is snug, so you really need a shoe horn to get them on. Once on, they feel good - good toe room but not loose, but I got these to be easy on-off and they are not. I measure sz 40 and wear that or a 41 in closed shoes with my orthotics, but wear 39 in Dansko clogs. Ordered these in 39 and 40 - could barely get the 39 on. The removable footbed is substantial, so you'll either have a nice footbed or easily be able to replace with custom orthotics (not OTC inserts) and have room for them..... if you can just get them on in the first place. I do have a high instep. Not a huge fan of the sweater material look - makes them so much more casual if wearing with pants that show that part, but could get over that if they were just easier to put on. Maybe they would loosen a tad over time, but I don't have anyone to break them in for me, lol, that would be up to me, so they will go back. If you're putting them on for the next 12 hours vs on/off, it might be worth the trouble.
I bought these shoes to were casually with jeans, but found them to be more comfortable than my work shoes. So now I where them to work everyday. I have plantar fasciitis and I stand on my feet all day at work. In my old work shoes by the end of the day I was unable to walk with out severe pain. These shoes have significantly reduced the amount of pain at the end of my work day. For me these shoes are truly a God send!!!!
Bottom LineYes, I would recommend this to a friend
