While every Asian was blessed with straight silky flawless hair, I wasn't. I have frizzy wavy very dry hair, worse in humid weather. I purchased a travel size to take to a business trip, and I LOVED it. My hair felt softer, frizziness was a bit tamer, and easier to straighten/style. Nothing will change my hair's genetic anomaly, but this made it easier to deal with it. Of course I purchased a regular size after returning from my trip :) As for the smell that some reviewers are complaining about, I have no problem with it. I think it smells like papaya? It's not strong or offensive at all, but everyone has a different sense of what smells good. I like it.

I have very dry, coarse, thick hair that I iron every day. This shampoo totally striped my hair and removed all my natural oil and my hair was straw like. I hated it, as well as the conditioner in the same line. I fail to see how this product is in any way "repairing and hydrating." It felt like cheap drugstore shampoo to me. I gave it three stars because I used it, and the conditioner, on my daughter (8) and it made her hair soft and lovely. Her hair is not dry. But I fail to see how a shampoo can be "hydrating" if it does not perform well on dry hair and only on oily hair. Bizarre. I won't order again.

Comments about Kiehl's Since 1851 Damage Repairing & Rehydrating Shampoo:

I loved the shampoo that this replaced. This shampoo does not hydrate my hair. It seems to strip my hair and after shampooing, when I try to run my fingers through my hair, my fingers catch on my hair instead of gliding through. I have very dry hair and we have hard water. The previous shampoo worked wonders and this one does not work at all for me. Now I am on the hunt again, spending lots of money to find a shampoo that works for me. P.S. I love my other Kiehl's products.

Comments about Kiehl's Since 1851 Damage Repairing & Rehydrating Shampoo:

I went through chemo, lost all my hair, then it came back course and dry with no shine. I use this with it's paired conditioner and my hair is so very soft, nourished and shiny! Can't believe it, after all I went through I wasn't even sure I'd get my hair back, much less also looking better than ever. Love this line and highly recommend! And almost forgot, smells sooooooo good just like the condish!

              She Loves It Very Much

Comments about Kiehl's Since 1851 Damage Repairing & Rehydrating Shampoo:

I'm not sure why some people think this smells bad? It smells incredible! Anyways, I buy this product for my grandmother who perms her hair many times a year and she loves this line! You can tell the difference when she uses another brand that claims to repair damaged hair. I'm going to continue to purchase this product but I ask for a bigger size? Thanks

              Smells awful

Comments about Kiehl's Since 1851 Damage Repairing & Rehydrating Shampoo:

I refuse to use Kiehls ever again. I've thrown away hundreds and hundreds of dollars for awful products such as this shampoo. The shampoo lathers well but the smell is awful. Also, once you rinse the shampoo off, I'm left with coarse and tangled hair.

Comments about Kiehl's Since 1851 Damage Repairing & Rehydrating Shampoo:

Love Love Love this product! My hair started snapping mid shaft. I use the shampoo, conditioner and leave in treatment. The fragrance is lovely. But more importantly my hair feel soft, strong and super healthy. The snapped strands are not flying all over. so hopefully they will grow back quickly.! It takes less time to blow dry which can only help. The style holds all day. Just wish all the bottles came in larger sizes!

Not good for my sensitive skin

                By

                from Arkansas

Comments about Kiehl's Since 1851 Damage Repairing & Rehydrating Shampoo:

The performance of the product was good, as far as how it made my hair feel. However, I am very sensitive to fragrances and found the smell to be pleasant, but over-powering. I also have very sensitive skin, and found after the second wash, that my scalp began to feel like it was burning in the shower, then began to itch later on. After the third use, it continued to worsen, so I returned the products (I used the shampoo, conditioner, and the hair mask). Switched back to my 12-ingredient natural shampoo, and the burning/itching went away. I would still recommend to others with severely damaged hair, because it did seem to perform well there...I realize not everyone is as sensitive to products as I am!

I am a believer of switching shampoos every now and then or my hair will get used to it and the shampoo will stop working. Before I tried this shampoo and conditioner and leave in treatment, my hair felt very thick from the last shampoo I used. The last shampoo added build up to my hair and it felt thick and sticky. I felt like I had a glob of oil at my scalp. But after I tried this hair line, my hair felt lighter and cleaner. It smells great and my hair feels really soft. I am loving the after.
