I have tried everything from Belk's, Macy's, JC Penney's and any other store I can find self tanning products. My sister gave me this as a gift and I put it on the shelf thinking....."I've never heard of Kiehl's"......so I never tried it. A year later (this year), I decided to try it. And WOW!!!!!!! It's perfect.....the color.....the ease of use......non-streaking......goes on like a thin lotion. I do apply a light lotion base before applying as I would any self-tanner. This allows the areas that are dry to have the same amount of moisture as other areas such as feet, ankles, toes, knees, elbows, etc. AND, I can use this on my face and neck area. Before I was trying to find something for my body and then another product for my face and neck. This just does it all. It is absolutely the BEST TANNING PRODUCT EVER!!!

I've used this twice now. I am a self tanning freak, I love it. I have tried everything from St. Tropez, to every drugstore brand on the shelf. I was looking for a tanner that doesn't have bronzer, but looks great. Pros: The texture is awesome. The scent isn't harsh at all, I used it on my face both times and didn't really smell anything at all. It's fast! Three hours to see results instead of 6? Yes please. I also didn't break out or have any rashes, so that's great! Cons: Which for this product is really the most important, how good was the tan? I got a light glow, very light. I did the leg comparison test and could barely spot a difference. Perhaps I need a thicker application? I will give it one more shot! I did not mix with lotion the second time around and had results very similar to the first. My skin is light and rosy. After two applications my skin was light and glowy. Maybe this is perfect for a winter glow, but definitely not a "day at the beach" tan.

        Comments about Kiehl's Since 1851 Sun-Free Self-Tanning Formula:

Followed all the rules, exfoliate, waited 45 minutes to hour to dress and still had streaks. With someone as fair as me this is too dark. Left on vacation with streaks. Loved the fact that it didn't smell bad. Love khiels products but I have to say this one didn't work. Too bad. There's always jergens.

This is awful. It's very orange and very streaky no matter how well it's applied

        Comments about Kiehl's Since 1851 Sun-Free Self-Tanning Formula:

I no longer trust internet reviews. Hate to break it to you, internet community, but it smells like sunless tanner. It smells STRONGLY like sunless tanner. Not only that, but it gave me the streakiest, worst tan I have ever experienced with any tanning lotion. I've had to exfoliate constantly and wear stockings to cover my legs up -- that bad. And I've used sunless tanners before, so I'm not a novice. You can find better for cheaper. I'd recommend St Tropez Classic Gradual Tanning Lotion for an effective tanner that doesn't smell like tanning lotion. If you don't mind a slight smell, Jergens Natural Glow is even better -- and much cheaper -- than this product. I'm returning immediately.

Tried em all, this one takes the cake for color, texture, lack of small and does not break my face out. I would compare this to KaterSomverville's self tanning pads that are suuuuuper expensive but give that "glow" not tanned look with just a hint of color. Hands down winner. Made a faithful customer of me with this product in just a few days. The hunt is over!!

            Comments about Kiehl's Since 1851 Sun-Free Self-Tanning Formula:

I love this self tanner. I apply this directly after I shower, to my wet face, & body. Absorbs really great & you need very little product to achieve results. This self tanner adds a subtle golden tan to my cheeks & forehead & it really extends & evens my body's natural tan.

              Comments about Kiehl's Since 1851 Sun-Free Self-Tanning Formula:

I have tried most of the products out in the market, but this is 1 of tops. I exfoliated my skin, moisturized and then applied. No Streaks, no fragrance, not orange. I am fairly fair skinned and this gave me a nice natural tan tone.. I apply a thin layer about every other day and have maintained a nice look. I was even asked by someone how my trip to be beach was. I will not waste money on any other brands... this is my last self tanning experiment ... I am hooked! The only con is it is a little thin so I wish they would thicken it up a bit more like a lotion.

              Amazing self tanner!

              Comments about Kiehl's Since 1851 Sun-Free Self-Tanning Formula:

I don't let my face get tan, so this is the absolute best way to make my face match the rest of my body. I do one layer and it's the perfect shade (not orange), but you can definitely layer it up for a deeper color. It's really moisturizing and feels amazing, and it doesn't clog my pores or make me break out (and I have sensitive skin!). In the winter months when I self tan I use a darker tanner for my body and then use this tanner on my hands and feet because it's doesn't get streaky and it's way more natural looking. Only con is I always have to be careful to use it sparingly because for the price the bottle is small.

I used this product on my legs to get some color. My legs are now as orange as a bag of Cheetos. I applied generously, as the directions state, and still had a splotchy result. This product also smells terrible and the odor lingers for days, even after a shower. I guess I am going to have to apply one more time to see if the orange turns any shade of brown. The price of this product is way too high for the results I got.

                Comments about Kiehl's Since 1851 Sun-Free Self-Tanning Formula:

Before this product, I tried a fake and bake which turned out to be a horrible experience. I looked horrible and smelled like sewage. After trying this guy, I've since changed my mind. I LOVE SELF TANNING! This product blends in very well. I never seen any stripes or discoloring or anything like that. I found it works better if I scrubbed my body before using it and if I used a mitt or something to rub this product in. I wish there was a larger size of this product because I went through it too fast. This has quickly became my new best friend.

I normally don't use self tanners, but I decided to try Kiehl's Self Tanner because I love all their products. This is by far the best one I have ever tried. You see results in the first hour and after 4 I looked like I spent the day at the beach. It did not streak, nor did I turn orange. I would recommend this product to anyone who wants a summer glow without going tanning.
