Comments about Luminox ANU 4200 Series 4221 Watch:

Scoring this very harshly I give it a 4 star rating for accuracy which I think could be better given the cost and the reputation. Everything else on the watch gets a definate 5.

I originally wasn't sure of the quality or accuracy of this watch so I wrote a polite email to Luminox customer service as a new customer and the response was less than desireable as well as the fact that the rep couldn't answer my question with an accurate answer but only gave me a "by the book" answer which given the cost and the company's well known name I was not impressed to say the least. This almost cost them a sale but I took a chance. Seems no one anywhere could give me the answer I was looking for so it was a buy it and see situation with me. In saying that, I've since spoken to other sellers/ dealers and they have been very helpful so aftercare I think is very good.

The watch itself is an impressive bit of kit, built solid and you don't have to worry about being rough with it. Accuracy wise, I still can't make a confirmed statement as I've not had anything consistent to sync it with to find out. In saying that, I've not been late for anything and actually quite the opposite although for the money I think it would be fair to say it should be more accurate than what Luminox says is acceptable.

This watch is Navy tested and approved and is literally built like a tank, which I will say, if you're going for a Luminox, then go for the steel case and not the carbon. This is a watch that you can wear to work, skydiving, scuba diving, whatever and whenever you want and it'll keep ticking. This model has the more robust Ronda 715Li quartz movement which is better than the movement used in most of the Luminox watches but it's still by no means a "high end" movement. If you want that then you're looking at considerably higher costs as well as more costs for maintenance.

Simple, easy to read day and night, built to last, and gets many compliments by people you wouldn't expect to notice! It's expensive, but don't let that make your decision... Buy it and you won't regret it...

Forget the reviews as most are basic or biased, or someone has been paid to do a review that doesn't really tell you anything you don't already know, and not backed up by experience. If you like the way it looks online, just take a chance and do it, you'll be happy you did. You have to feel it, look at it up close, in pitch black dark, and wear it and only then will you truly understand.

If something were to be changed on the watch it would only be the rubber strap and I'd go for a PVD stainless to match the watch. Another try and see situation as most are either not knowledgeable or they just don't care and only want to sell you the watch. Do your homework, find the right people to help with your request and anything is possible. Overall, be persistent and don't give up. There IS a PVD bracelet that WILL work for this watch, and though it's not recommended by those in charge, it physically does work, is very durable, fits well, and is a perfect color match...and looks the business! When it's all said and done if you're going to spend the money then you should be able to have it the way you want it and enjoy it as opposed to being forced to keep it they way they designed it because someone didn't "think" about making it better.
Finally and most importantly, Make sure you get this watch from an authorised Luminox dealer or seller. There are lots of online sellers that offer a "slightly" to "considerably" cheaper price to make you think you're getting a good deal…You're NOT! If anything goes wrong with the watch purchased from an unauthorised seller whether it's a real genuine Luminox or a counterfeit, then Luminox won't even give you time the time of day and you'll be stuck with a watch that you can't do anything with other than look at it. You can see some examples on youtube.

On that note, Dillards IS an authorised seller and your warranty is covered. Dillards credit is a decent way to do this and if you're not happy they're very good with returns as long as the item is in original condition. Something worth considering.

Comments about Luminox ANU 4200 Series 4221 Watch:

The watch gets a 4 start rating instead of 5 purely due to the accuracy. It's very accurate but not the kind of accurate I'm used to or that I'm happy with and I think it could be better. Apart from that it gets 5 stars for build quality, looks, durability, etc.
I originally wasn't sure of the quality or accuracy of this watch and even till now no one could answer my question with an accurate answer and just gave me a "by the book" answer soit was a buy it and see situation with me. Luminox as a company in my personal experience are what we would say not worried about the "little man" or what he thinks or wants to know and one will struggle to get support or advice from them although the watch itself is an impressive bit of kit.
