If you are ordering online, I would recommend getting this scooter in a size smaller than your daughter normally wears. (If she has an average sized waist.) The waist doesn't adjust.
That being said, this is THE cutest, easiest-to-care-for scooter. It is totally wash and wear. You can even leave it in the dryer and pull it out a day later- no wrinkles! And they must be stain resistant, b/c food, marker, etc comes right out in the wash!
My daughter wore them with pantyhose in the winter and ankle socks in spring and autumn.

I have bought these skirts the past two years for my two daughters to wear to school. I will be buying them again this year, they hold up great! My favorite part about them is they don't wrinkle, and there is no need to iron them!
