Comments about Johnston & Murphy Hayes Tassel Dress Loafers:
I wore Cole Haan for quite along time. There was at time I gave J & M a shot. To my surprise the JM's last nearly twice as long. They are basically the same shoe. However Johnston Murphy is my first choice. Also have a few pairs of Oxfords. Same deal. Super value, style and durability..

Comments about Johnston & Murphy Hayes Tassel Dress Loafers:
I have been wearing Cole Haan Pinch Tassles for twenty years but am unhappy with their decision to make them only with Nike Air soles at a $70 add; not worth it and ruins the fit of a loafer.
Recently switched to the J&M Hayes Dress Loafer and find them to be equal in quality and style and a much more reasonable price.
They do run slightly narrow so I wear a Wide (W) size in these in Black and Burgandy and they are very comfortable.
I wish I could get the Mahogany in a Wide but it would seems that Dillard's does not carry them in stores or make them available online.

Comments about Johnston & Murphy Hayes Tassel Dress Loafers:
I have discontinued purchasing Bass shoes due to their poor quality and disregard for customer satisfaction. I have found that Johnston & Murphy have the styling and quality in many of their shoes that I had previously admired in Bass shoes for +40 years. My only regret is that I wear a 7.5 D or M which is often difficult to find at Dillards in the styles I like. I had to purchase an 8M which is not my ideal fit. It would be very nice if they were made in the USA.

Comments about Johnston & Murphy Hayes Tassel Dress Loafers:
My wife bought me these for Christmas, and I've been wearing them for the past few days to work. They were a little stiff the first day, but after that they feel like they were meant to be on my feet.
I've owned several pairs of J&M shoes over th years, and she looked at my current J&M wingtips to get my size (11 1/2) the salesman told her to try a half size smaller, which she did, and they fit perfect.
One thing that I've noticed for years is that my foot is very brand dependent on sizing. I wear a 12 1/2 in Nikes, and down as far as 10 1/2 in Clark's. With those being the outliers, I believe 11-11 1/2 is about right for my shoe size.

Wish they had a rubber (non slip) insert in the sole of the shoe.

Comments about Johnston & Murphy Hayes Tassel Dress Loafers:
The first pair lasted three years. I've had another pair for two years. Had them re-heeled and later half soled. Getting ready to buy another pair because I've worn out the insoles. They still shine well and look good.
