The fabric is better than what I expected. It is a little heavier, which ensures a nice presentation and that it will not slip off the table. It is not a shimmery fabric; however the nice brocade pattern makes the tablecloth look very elegant. It is versatile, appropriate for a morning, afternoon and evening event. With the right placemats, ring holders, china, I will be using it for a lunch during the summer and a dinner during the winter.
