This are real comfortable shoes for a busy 9 year old boy, he love it, they are very light and they look cool ;) The velcro is great for my busy boy, I read a review about how good they are for kids with sensory issues and I am agree .
We just got it recently so I can say anything about durability but I trust merrel shoes from the past.
