Comments about Sperry Top-Sider Men's Striper Laceless Boat Shoes:
I'd been searching for a comfortable shoe for some time. It seems like my foot flattened or something and I found the arch support in every shoe I tried was too high and caused me discomfort. I saw this shoe in green at the store and on a lark I tried them on. Loved them, even with the gaudy yellow laces.
They have very little arch support, which is perfect for me, yet provide excellent cushioning. I walked around Europe for 10 days on them, even on cobblestones, and my feet were never tired. (By the way, bright colored shoes seem to be the rage in Europe these days.) People at the gym think I'm nuts because I use them rather than running shoes on the treadmill.
The insole of the shoe is rough at first and a little uncomfortable but it smoothed out quickly and I have no issues. The shoes are canvas but once they softened up I had no issues with going sockless.
The only concern I have is the lower is seperating a little where the shoe bends as you walk. It almost has to, I can't see how it couldn't with the shoe bending. Who knows, maybe it's supposed to be that way to accommodate the bend. It's held and I honestly don't think it's going to get worse. Even if it doesn't, I don't care. I've gotten my money's worth out of them already.
Bottom line: I like these so much I'm ordering the other three colors as soon as I submit this review.

These shoes rubbed a blister on one of my toes when worn without socks. The inside of the shoe is not lined and the canvas type material is rougn on the inside of the shoe.
